Sam had the option of being a lawyer, what he went to school for, or being an author and following his passion.

He started off by writing about his career. Than put a few characters in jail and wrote about their trails. Then after he finished a few stories about that, he wrote a story about a time traveling lawyer who traveled back to the 1800's to solve crimes and once he solved them he traveled to other cases and solved those.
